More about the participants:

SKECH185

The journey of SKECH185 in the culture of hip-hop is one of the most colorful stories to touch the genre. Born Willie McIntyre on January 10, 1985 (hence the name), he entered the rap arena at 16, testing his own abilities at Chicago open mics and hostile freestyle cyphers.

Always an avid and exceptionally intelligent student of rap techniques and timelines, SKECH learned and developed the foundations for his own approach through an advanced method of battle rapping and song writing studying the approaches of everyone from Jay-Z to Labtekwon.

SKECH caught the attention of Galapagos4 at the age of 19 and embarked on a four-year stint with the infamous label. He began work on an album with G4’s own DJ Whitelightning, an instrumentally gritty and verbally abrasive effort that was terminated due to creative differences.

With the release of his highly-acclaimed debut album, “New Age Middle Finger”, he further cemented himself as a voice in Indie Hip Hop and reached the ears as distant as the UK and Japan. Being 1/7 of Chicago progressive rap outfit Tomorrow Kings, they are set to release their debut full length “Nigger Rigged Time Machine” on December 3rd while he works at his follow up record (with long time collaborator Analog(ue) Tape Dispenser) entitled “WARCHURCH: Sons of The Throw Away Age.”

ADAM BURKE

Originally from the UK, Adam Burke began performing stand-up after writing a piece on comedy for a Chicago magazine. Before long, Burke became a fixture at Midwestern shows and showcases. His absurdist, verbose comedy covers not only the vagaries of life in his adopted hometown of Chicago, but also the usefulness of mammoths, dogs who study law, and the importance of gangland grammar. He has appeared on the Bob and Tom show, WGN 720 AM radio, and the Benson Interruption Podcast, and was listed as one of the Top 20 Comedians in Chicago by Comedy.com. Adam has appeared at the Bridgetown Comedy Festival in Portland OR, and as part of the Just for Laughs Chicago festival for three years running. In addition, he has opened for a wide variety of comedians including Jeff Ross, Maria Bamford, Bo Burnham, Brendon Burns, and Jake Johannsen.
