Amy's writing is amazing and brilliant. She writes about complex science in the most charming, humorous, lyrical, magical and mystical ways. Her essay "Sail on, My Little Honey Bee" is a work of genius as is "Warbler Delight". I so look forward to her book coming out this year and and thrilled to have found her marvelous writing. She is a winner.

[...] Just a reminder that next weekend, we’re hosting a reading with Jesse Seldess on Saturday evening. It should be amazing and I’m excited to see a poet of whom I have head so much about. (If you want to read some of his poetry to see what it’s like, I found this piece on-line). I have included the details of that event below, in addition however, if you are looking for another literary event this Friday, come to Rational Park to celebrate MAKE Magazine’s latest issue! I got to peek at this last weekend during the MDW Fair, as MAKE and I shared a table. Another success to add to their list of lovely editions. The party should be pretty fun too. More info on that here. [...]

[...] The Roman poet-philosopher’s basic premise in The Nature of Things, one he takes pains to derive from Epicurus and to distinguish from the claims of other pre-Socratics, is that the world is made of infinite space and of loosely moving tiny atoms that alternately bunch together and fly apart. There is no purpose to their motion beyond mere accident. No purpose—most emphatically, no anthropocentric purpose—is also inherent in the increasingly complex living things these atoms sometimes cluster into. READ MORE [...]
