MAKE: A Chicago Literary Magazine Issue #3 Release Party BBQ

What: MAKE celebrates the release of issue # 3, “truthiness,” with the pop
rock stylings of Head of Femur (headoffemur.com) and guests, plus a
summertime BBQ. Issue #3 contributors, Kevin Coval, Idris Goodwin, Zak
Mucha, and Marvin Tate read and perform their work – offering an eclectic
mix of spoken word, hip-hop, and social commentary.

When: Saturday, June 24th from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Where: The Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia, www.hideoutchicago.com

The cost of $8 includes a fresh copy of MAKE and a plate of steamy BBQ.
All money goes toward remaining printing costs.

Issue #3, themed “truthiness,” features an interview with Chicago luminary
Alex Kotlowitz, as well as a poetry section edited by Slingshots (A
Hip-Hop Poetica) author, Kevin Coval. It is chock full of fiction,
nonfiction, and poetry that addresses literature’s role as purveyor of
truth and as beloved entertainer.
